Sunday 4th May – Stitching Words

Express yourself through embroidered text.

Words have power, and embroidery offers a beautiful way to bring them to life. In this session, you’ll stitch a meaningful word or a poem, exploring how text can be transformed into a tactile, expressive art form.

What you’ll learn:
– Simple techniques for stitching letters
-How to plan and transfer text onto fabric
-Creative ways to personalize embroidery with words

Take home: A mini embroidered word on your fabric —a meaningful keepsake from the session.

Limited spaces available – pre-booking recommended!

About Me, your creative guide

I’m Ekta Kaul, an artist who finds joy in exploring themes of place, history, and belonging through the art of narrative embroidery and abstract painting. Over the past 18 years, I’ve honed my craft as a full time artist, with my works acquired for the permanent collections of esteemed institutions like the Museum of London and the Crafts Council. My book, Kantha, published by Bloomsbury UK, celebrates the rich traditions of this art form. Alongside my work as an artist, I regularly collaborate with world-class institutions, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, to share my passion for stitch with students from around the world.
